Chart updated: 3/14/08
March 14, 2008
I’m still trying how to best cross-post the charts here in the blog, but for the time being, I’ll just post this mention that the updated chart for this week is now available.
One commenter asked how much the chart could possibly change in one week’s time, and I guess we have our answer now: a lot, and not much, all at the same time. Later this weekend, I’ll post a code update that will show this week vs. last week positions, and it’ll be more clear. (I may also add access to historical charts; we’ll see.)
In any case, here’s a summary of this week’s Top 10 of the Top 25:
- Janet Jackson, Feedback
- Andrew Spencer, To Be With You
- Filo & Peri feat. Eric Lumiere, Anthem
- James Roy, Rise Above
- Donna Summer, I’m a Fire
- Jacinta, Can’t Keep it a Secret
- Ron Perkov, I Get Off
- Cam Tyler, Feels Like Heaven
- Insignia feat. Stephen Pickup, Piano in the Rain
- The Cheetah Girls, Fuego
Just in this Top 10, I’ll note a few things:
- Filo & Peri were #1 last week, and Insignia #2, so yeah, things do actually move.
- I’m embarrassed that The Cheetah Girls positioned at #10 (or are on the chart at all) considering that they are made-for-television pap from Disney, and based on charts I read, I’m the only DJ who’s playing them.
- Jacinta’s Can’t Keep it a Secret is not a new song… It’s months old, and I still get requests to play it practically every set. So it’s no surprise it continues to chart.
- Donna Summer and Janet Jackson are hardly surprises. Both their singles are really pretty sweet, especially Ralphi Rosario’s mix of Feedback which accounts for why that song is #1 this week.
I’m really happy that Andrew Spencer’s To Be With You has made it’s US debut on iTunes just this morning. You can find it on CAPP Records’ 50 Techno Electro Tunes, a link to which is on my web site. And it’s actually 100 tracks for about 10 bucks… You get 50 tracks, and 50 bonus tracks. Check it out.
