I guess we'll find out, won't we? ;-)

I'm not surprised that most DJs would do this monthly. As I said in the original post, it's a pain in the butt if you do it by hand. Since there's really no more effort involved at this point to do it whenever, I picked weekly, primarily because cumulative charts (Billboard and record pools) do it weekly.

But no, I don't really expect huge fluctuations week-over-week. They happen that way on the Billboard charts (things debuting high on the list, or other large movements) because of the way the charts are build and what data feeds them. Which is why record pool charts are more accurate... They reflect what DJs are actually playing and not what they were "influenced" (I'm being nice here) to report.

Anyway, you gave me an idea... Since I hadn't really planned for presenting historical data in the application I wrote (although it's inherently in the database that drives it), I think I might cross-post the charts here in the blog so I can actually see how much they move each week.

I'm a bit obsessed, aren't I?

Does your average top ten plays really differ that much in a week? Most other DJ playlists I've followed tend to do it monthly. But if you want to give it a weekly run, more power to you. Always good to know what's new or moving up the charts out there to pick up.

LOL Good to hear from ya, Dakota. And yeah, check back. And promise me you'll kick my ass if I come-up with any new reasons not to update it weekly. ;-)

Oh. My. God. History is upon us. And a possible RSS feed of the chart too? Sweet!

Your laborious fruits are indeed tasty, Chartley Spenglemaker. :-)
